it is still windy, and this has been the message cal trans has been pushing all week. live in richmond, nick smith, abc news. jay thank you, nick. amazing how that driver got out of the big rig. the highway patrol says the wet and windy weather likely played a role in a fatal crash that occurred early this morning on northbound interstate 280 in daly city. the 5:00 a.m. crash kept lanes shutdown for about three hours. one woman died at the scene. the chp says she was driving alone and apparently did not see an abandoned car. she slammed into it and was struck from behind by an suv. traffic came to a stand still while crews worked to cut the victim out of that wreckage. san francisco is dealing with dozens of toppled trees and flooding right now. crews have responded to at least 40 downed trees. we are told by city officials that none of the trees has hit any homes. also there have been 48 calls of flooding, one the northern police station at fill more and turke. and in san francisco a power pole has snapped in half in the sunset district at 39th and moraga street. a tr

we are joined live from the cal campus with the details. good morning. >> good morning, carolyn. as you mentioned, student leaders here at u.c. berkeley say that the salvation army is anti-guy, critting what they say is years of discrimination, including an interview where they said the salvation army said, quote, according to scripture, gays must die." so they don't want them on campus and don't want their fellow students supporting it. it started by banning salvation army bell ringers on campus this holiday season. that came after they said they discriminated against lgbt groups. now they want donation boxes removed from the dorms. they have mixed reaction against the push. >> we've been kind of supportive of that, but i didn't know that they were anti-gay or homophobic so that kind of makes it questionable. >> donating to the salvation army doesn't mean that you are prejudice against gays and lesbians. it just means you want to help people. >> in a statement to the news the charity said, quote, the salvation army believes all people are equal, regardless of sexual orientation.
